I used to think love was fake.  I thought that because I thought I "loved" people but then they would just use and hurt me. I thought if this is what love is then I didn't want it. However first we must know God's love. Really His love is the only love we need.Love is not a feeling. It's a choice. God is the perfect example of choosing to love someone. Find a mirror and look at it. Who do you see? Your self of course. Look in the mirror again and think about this: God love me so much that he chosed to send his only son to die for you. He did that so I can know him and his love. Once when grasp and take ahold of His love, we can start to understand love. A lot of people say love is an emotion but it's not. We made love an emotion when God made is a Choice. We shouldn't abuse this word and take away it's meaning. Here's what I know about love: its patient,kind, never gives up, cares more about others, doesn't want what it doesn't have, doesn't strut, doesn't force itself on others, doesn't fly off the handle, doesn't keep a score of wrong, put with with everything, trusts God always, always looks for the best, never looks back, keeps going to the end, love never dies, love never fails. Taken straight out of the Bible. (message) I have a friend who let herself fall in love with boys. She thought it was love but really she looks back and realized it was lust. She wishes she knew that from the beginning but knows she went through that to understand love. She hasn't really truly understood love until she fell in love with God. She thought she was but it took a weekend for her to truly fall in love with Him. It's been hard for her to let any guy close because she was scared of getting hurt again. She was pretty happy being single. But there was this boy at her church who started to show interest in her. She thought he was annoying honestly. But God started to work on her heart and when she got to know him, she liked him as well. My friend didn't want to make the first moves on anything and she just waited and not before long the boy did. She thought it would be silly to ask him questions like whats your favorite color but he asked them first. Everyone has been telling her to judge him by the fruits of the Spirit. She has been and they are all good fruits. No rotten pears in the fridge. (inside joke) Also if he treats his mom right he will treat you right. My friend knows that he loves and respects his mom dearly. My friend is blessed to have a guy like that in her life. She knows she's blessed. Don't give up on love. Find God's love and hold onto it! And if your single, wait for God to place the right person in your life. Never settle for less because God wants the best! If they don't match up to the what love is list, forget about it! God has someone better planned for you God's plan is the best plan. :)
